Unfortunately, Pennsylvania is an at-will employment state, which means that even whilst you collect worker’s compensation benefits, it is possible that you could lose your job and, with it, your benefits, such as health insurance. Obviously, this can pose a significant problem for those undergoing care for things other than their worker’s compensation claim or for families that rely upon those benefits to meet everyone’s needs. Fortunately, your healthcare costs related to the injury should be covered by your employer’s workers comp insurance, but that is not equivalent to having primary health insurance.
